In 1974, the founders of the Toronto Aeros Girls Hockey Association envisioned an organization in which girls could enjoy playing their game at a high level while developing their hockey skills. Today, when our players learn about the teamwork, discipline and personal effort required to play hockey at a high level, we believe they also learn life skills and values that will bring them leadership roles and future successes. Our volunteer coaching and support staff truly care about our players’ progress in hockey and in life. And we are proud of our unparalleled success in having our graduating players selected to hockey teams at Canadian and U.S. universities, where they further their education and continue in our Aeros “Tradition of Excellence”. That Tradition of Excellence also continues today with our players representing Canada at each of the Senior, U22 and U18 levels, and also representing Ontario at the U18 level. We are fortunate to attract players that play our great Canadian game with skill, and we look forward to many more of our players following in the strides of their alumnae. This year, we continue our affiliation with North York Storm Girls Hockey, a grassroots organization having teams at all skill levels and ages. Our Junior Aeros team is moving their home to the arena at York University, and will benefit from the facilities and services there. Our Midget Aeros team will continue to play out of our traditional home at Seneca College, and also hold back-to-back practices at York with the Junior team. And our North York Storm affiliate Bantam team will utilize both rinks, which gives all three teams a great mix of both interdependency and independence. To our players, may you look back on this season with a sense of joy, pride and accomplishment. To our parents, may you look back on this season as a major stepping stone in your daughters’ continuing evolution into the adults they will become. Deb then actively studied the U.S. education and recruiting scene extensively before her 3 Gillian Thompson D 10 girls ultimately graduated to play for Harvard and Yale 4 Avery Peer D 10 Universities respectively.
