This report is prepared pursuant to section 398 of the Elections Act. Sincerely Jo-Ann Waugh Chief Electoral Officer ADDENDUM TO THE REPORT OF THE CHIEF ELECTORAL OFFICER ON POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS 2007 The Election Financing Return for Mr. Jorn Meier, a Yukon New Democratic Party candidate in the Electoral District of Klondike, was received on June 26 2008. All candidates at the 2006 general election were required to file this return by January 15, 2007. Mr. Meier’s official agent was granted one extension to this date, January 30, 2007. The chief electoral officer commenced legal action on July 30, 2007 with a letter and a Certificate and Compliance order pursuant to section 352 of the Elections Act. Mr. Meier did not respond to this order and did not file the required documents. On February 23, 2008, a copy of the Certificate of Compliance was filed with the Clerk of the Supreme Court (Yukon) pursuant to subsection 353(3) of the aforementioned Act. Mr. Meier was also advised that the Certificate of Compliance is considered to be a judgment of the Supreme Court in favour of the chief electoral officer. Mr. Meier contacted the Elections Office on April 22, 2008 and, as previously stated, filed the required return.
