Climber: Touches the floor, “Off belay” Belayer: “Belay off” give them slack & HIGH FIVES! Today… BELAY practice/testing Each pack gets a rope – in MP or rock wall (1-5 in MP, 6-10 rock wall) With a harness on: 1. Tie a figure 8 on the climbers rope 2. Set up the belay equipment on belayers rope 3. Belay the figure 8 knot above the “climbers” head For the test, you need to: 1. Give commands including the toes to toes check 2. Belay properly and lower the knot back down to the floor Belay Team Primary Belayer Anchor(s) Tiger Assistant/ Back-up belayer Belay Team Primary Belayer: Wearing harness & uses ATC.
