Ogier in Cayman recruits two new article clerks News - 21/08/2014 Ogier in Cayman is delighted to announce the appointment of two new articled clerks, Mr Paul Ebanks and Mr John Carey, for an 18-month term. Mr Paul Ebanks completed his Bachelor of Laws degree from Nottingham Law School in 2012. Mr Ebanks most recently completed his Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School, Manchester in 2014. Mr Ebanks also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the International College of the Cayman Islands and a BBA in Finance from Temple University, Philadelphia. Mr John Carey completed his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Liverpool in 2011 and completed his Professional Practice Course in Law at the Truman Bodden Law School in 2012, with commendation. He was admitted to the Bar in Fiji in 2013. Mr Carey holds a number of other professional qualifications including an MBA specialisation in Finance from the University of Leicester, BSE in Engineering with a BSE concentration in Mechanical Engineering from Walla Walla University, Washington and a Diploma in Pre-Engineering from the Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica. “Paul and John have achieved strong academic results and we are confident they will continue to thrive in the next phase of their legal education,” said Nick Rogers, Managing Partner, Ogier in Cayman. “Both Paul and John join Ogier after enjoying success in other careers, and we are looking forward to having them complete their articles at Ogier as part of their entry into the legal profession.” Ogier Cayman’s Articled Clerk programme provides comprehensive practical training in the main areas of legal work undertaken by the firm. Articled Clerks work alongside partners and associates to gain exposure to top-tier international work, develop their expertise across Ogier’s main service lines and work on cases and transactions on a rotational basis. As part of its continued commitment to provide training opportunities for young Caymanians seeking to join the legal profession, Ogier will be interviewing additional articled clerk applicants to start in February 2015.
