The existing environment is documented to form a basis for assessment of potential changes either positive or negative impacts generated from the proposed development to the environment. Meanwhile, socio-economic background is established to represent specific aspects of human environment. The existing environment is determined extends to 5-km radius from the boundary of the Project site. 6.2 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT 6.2.1 Topography Topography of the Site is obtained from the topography map of Jabatan Ukur dan Pemetaan Malaysia (JUPEM). The Site is relatively flat. General topography of the Project Site is shown in Figure 6-1. 6.2.2 Land Use Several areas are undeveloped and covered with relatively grass including areas east of the recycling and recovery plant, south of the office and administration building, and east of the storage building. Located north of the Site is AG Terminal Sdn. Bhd., a warehousing, storage, and liquid bulking handling terminal. The eastern, southern and western sides of the Site are vacant plots of land. The land use within 5 km radius of the Project site is enclosed in Figure 6-2. The detail information on existing land use profile within 5 km radius of the Project site is summarized in Table 6-1. The photographs of the Project site and its surrounding land use within 5-km radius is shown in Plate 6-1.
