FIRST REGULAR SESSION [PERFECTED] HOUSE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL NOS. 128 & 340 95TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 0535L.03P D. ADAM CRUMBLISS, Chief Clerk AN ACT To repeal section 9.020, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof two new sections relating to holidays. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows: Section A. Section 9.020, RSMo, is repealed and two new sections enacted in lieu 2 thereof, to be known as sections 9.015 and 9.020, to read as follows: 9.015. For any holiday observed, recognized, or otherwise referred to by any state 2 department or agency, public school, any public institution of higher education, or any 3 political subdivision of this state, such department, agency, public school, institution of 4 higher education, or political subdivision shall, for all purposes, use the traditional name 5 of the holiday, including but not limited to use of the traditional holiday names of "New 6 Year's Day", "Martin Luther King, Jr. Day", "Lincoln's Birthday", "Washington's 7 Birthday", "Easter", "Truman Day", "Memorial Day", "Fourth of July" or 8 "Independence Day", "Labor Day", "Columbus Day", "Veterans Day", "Thanksgiving 9 Day", "Hanukkah", "Christmas", and "Kwanzaa". 9.020. In each year the third Monday of January is known as "Martin Luther King Day" 2 and the twelfth day of February is known as "Lincoln Day" and the thirteenth day of April is 3 known as "Jefferson Day" and the second Monday in October is known as "Columbus Day" and 4 the twenty-fifth day of December is known as "Christmas".
