Human Resources personnel and business owners are invited to share their wisdom and experience with job seekers attending the event workshop. It is a great way to learn first-hand what companies are looking for when they are hiring new employees. The employer panel discussions are so popular we decided to do a whole event around this. On Tuesday, October 30th, 2018, the Stark and Tuscarawas OhioMeansJobs centers will host a special workshop entitled “Ask an Employer.” This event will feature local business representatives in a panel discussion followed a recruitment event. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from human resources and business owners about hiring practices and experiences. Participants will be able to ask questions of the panelists, as well as hear the panelists’ experiences with resumes, job interviews, online applications, and how to keep a job once you’ve been hired. Save The panel discussion will run from 10:00am to 11:30, then from 12:00-1:00pm there The will be an open recruitment with the same four companies. Individuals can get on- the-spot interviews for the job openings at the companies involved. Date!! The “Ask an Employer” event will be held at both Stark and Tuscarawas offices on the same date and time. Everyone is invited! Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. However, the information covered was so helpful to job seekers it was decided to include it as part of the suite of workshops offered at the centers. “Ready Set Work” was developed with collaboration from different units at the OhioMeansJobs Center to get a rounded perspective on what employers expect and what job seekers including, youth, and training completers, need to know. The workshop focuses not only on how to attain a job, but what qualities an individual should have to keep that hard-earned job. “Ready, Set, Work” looks at what comes after an offer letter, and how an individual can be successful when starting new employment. Participants of the workshop will get to explore what personal qualities they possess, and how to utilize those qualities when working within an organization or company. The facilitator will go over behaviors an employee can practice to help make it past the probationary period and become an excellent employee. “Ready, Set, Work” makes its debut in Tuscarawas County on Tuesday October 2nd at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday October 9th at 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Stark County. The workshop will be offered biweekly in both counties.
