Collaborated with a team at the Nano and Micro tomography beamlines at Argonne National Lab to image a running fuel cell, lithium-ion batteries, and other components. Designed and fabricated a micro-sized fuel cell to image using synchrotron x-ray computed tomography. Designed and fabricated an evaporation setup to help image water transport through varying samples. Reconstructed and analyzed data images using Python to create 3D models. Researched 3D printing applications in milli and micro-scale hydrogen fuel cells. Submitted a paper for publishing as 2nd author to the Electrochemical Energy Society: “Water Management in Low Temperature Fuel Cells through in-Operando X-Ray Computed Tomography” Massachusetts Department of Transportation—Tunnel Engineering Boston, MA Mechanical Engineering Intern May 2017—August 2017 . Collaborated in the implementation of the Waze tunnel position system to have GPS capabilities in the Boston Central Artery tunnels (I90, & I93). Worked with Sandia National Labs to analyze multiple CFD models and Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) characteristics to advice supervisor in the safety of FCV through Boston tunnels. Evaluated drain room pump performance throughout different road sections. Inspected all the different components responsible for maintaining low toxin levels in the tunnel highways: Ventilation building fans, axial fans, plenums, and CO monitors. LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE Tufts University—La Salsa Dance Team Medford, MA Vice-President August 2016 – Present . Helped grow the dance team from 6 to 22 dancers while choreographing multiple dance pieces. Taught weekly lessons to undergraduate and graduate students. Skill levels ranged from beginner to advanced. Hosted, taught, and performed at events catering anywhere from elementary school students to adults. Waukegan Public Schools—Waukegan Technology Institute Waukegan, IL Co-Founder May 2015 – January 2017 . Created a high school, summer enrichment program aimed at introducing and motivating under-resourced, ambitious students to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Taught students to use Python and engaged them in multiple introductory, yet challenging projects. Influenced the school district to bring in computer science classes to the high school, and to create the first district-organized, summer enrichment program offered to Waukegan district students. Helped graduate 83 high school students, and passed the program onto the Waukegan Public Library.
