Mr Daniel Fedson BPD(Arch)(1997), BPC(2001), BArch(Hons)(2001), Dip Mod Lang(2001), MConstrLaw(2002) – Faculty of Architecture, Business and Planning Daniel has strong relationships in the architecture, finance and construction industries, playing a role in many large infrastructure projects in Australia and overseas. Daniel is keen to be a valuable Faculty representative and member of the Alumni Council, capable of making a valuable contribution to the Architecture, Building and Planning faculty program, as well as supporting the Faculty’s current fundraising efforts. Ms Jennifer Henry BAgrSc(Hons)(1990), PhD (2001) – Melbourne School of Land and Environment Jennifer graduated twice from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry (now Land and Environment) with a BAgr(Hons) in 1990 and PhD in 2001. In her postgraduate years, she was a proud advocate for the University and her faculty as a Scholar in Residence at Mentone Girls’ Secondary College and on Discover Day. She has held positions in Australia in government (Victorian Department of Agriculture), private industry (Television Education Network) and the CSIRO (CSIRO Publishing). In 2008, Jennifer moved to New York City to take up a position as Executive Editor with Nature Publishing Group, before joining the New York Academy of Sciences as Director, Life Sciences. Throughout her career, Jennifer continues to advocate for the University and forge links back to its researchers, in her editorial and directorial capacities, domestically and internationally. She is actively involved in alumni networking events in New York City, and an engaged networker with alumni of all ages and disciplines. Mr Simon Whatmore MBA(2007) – Melbourne Business School Simon has spent many years as a consultant with expertise ranging from strategic analysis, change management, organisational redesign, business case development and program management. Over the years he has gained significant governance experience in areas of financial, risk, human resource and global management responsibility. Simon’s experience in stakeholder management has seen him develop strong communication skills that have allowed him to successfully build rapport with clients by identifying and framing key issues to build consensus. Simon’s understanding of governmental process is a huge advantage in bringing the best out of private and public sector relationships. Background and Membership In 2011 the University of Melbourne established a new Alumni Council through Statute 3.1 - Alumni Council: The University of Melbourne. The Alumni Council reports to the University Council and consists of 13 members who represent the many cultural, academic and professional attributes of your international alumni community. Six members are elected by alumni, two representatives of the University serve on the Council as non-voting members and the remaining members are recommended by the Vice-Chancellor and appointed by the University Council.
