The documents became the possession of her husband, Melvin Fagen, at the time of her death. Melvin Fagen donated the collection to the Archives via the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Special Exhibitions Department in February 1993. Biography: Lena Fishman Fagen, a German Jewish refugee, assisted Varian Fry in his rescue efforts through 1940 in Marseille, France, and emigrated to the United States with Fry's help in December 1940. She returned to Germany after World War II and became chief document screener for the prosecution at the Nuremberg war crime trials. Restrictions on access: No restrictions on access.
