The Shaw Prize - Saul Perlmutter,Adam Riess and Brian Schmidt - Biographical Notes 12/31/2006 10:31 AM Shaw Laureates > Shaw Laureates in 2006 > Astronomy > 中文版 Saul Perlmutter,Adam Riess and Brian Schmidt > Biographical Notes Home Organization Biographical Notes The Prize Shaw Laureates Saul Perlmutter (b. 1959) is presently a Professor of Shaw Laureates in 2006 Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, and Senior Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Astronomy Laboratory. He joined the University of California Saul Perlmutter, Berkeley Physics Department in 2004. He is also an Adam Riess and astrophysicist at Lawrence Berkeley National Brian Schmidt Laboratory and leader of the international Supernova Announcement Cosmology Project, which first announced the results in and Citation 1998 indicating that the universe will last forever, with its expansion ever accelerating. Biographical Notes He graduated from Harvard magna cum laude in 1981, Press and received his PhD from the University of California, Release Berkeley in 1986. He was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA in 2002. Essay Autobiography Adam Riess (b. 1969) is an astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute and a Professor at Johns Life Science and Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. Between 1996 Medicine and 1999 Professor Riess was a Miller Fellow at the Mathematical University of California, Berkeley. Sciences Professor Riess received his BS in Physics from the Shaw Laureates in 2005 Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992 where Shaw Laureates in 2004 he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He received his PhD from Harvard University in 1996. Shaw Prize 2006 Events Brian Schmidt (b. 1967) is a Federation Fellow at the Contact Australian National University’s Mount Stromlo Observatory, Canberra.
