Macclesfield Forest Pleasure Ride 2016 Macclesfield Forest Pleasure Ride. NOTE; key turnings and junctions will be chalk marked along with yellow ribbon markers where possible. Turn left out of the field carpark onto Bullocks Lane, turn right at the end of Bullocks Lane onto Byrons Lane. (marshal) Go under the bridge at Gurnett (marshal) Bear left at the Y junction onto Jarman. Bear right at the Church House Inn, up Ridge Hill.(marshal) Turn left down Wetton Way. Turn right on Bollinhead Lane, follow the lane- chalk arrows. Turn left at the junction, follow the lane down hill.- chalk arrows. Take the bridleway gate into the forest on the right (mounting blocks available) Follow the bridleway route through the forest to Standing Stone. Opportunities to canter on the verges .Once you reach Nesitt Hill there is an option to have a group photograph taken - off the trackby the bench seats, with views of the reservoir behind.. Exit Bridleway at the gate (mounting blocks) and carry straight on along the road towards Forest Chapel. Turn left up the lane to Forest Chapel, (5.64 miles). Continue along Charity lane. Note the first part of the lane is quite rough, it does however improve quite quickly and then there is an alternative soft verge to ride on – canter opportunities, watch out for tree roots in places. Emerge onto Hacked Way Lane, turn left. Note; care required on the first part of this lane as it is quite steep and can be slippery underfoot. Turn left into the forest at the bridleway gate, (mounting blocks available) and follow the track down. There are opportunities to canter in the forest on the soft verge beside the track. Emerge on to the road and carry straight on to the Leathers Smithy. Turn left at the junction. Follow the road alongside the reservoir, bear right at the junction up the lane. Retrace your route past where you entered the forest previously. Keep to the lane, going straight on towards the road junction near the Hanging Gate, turn left, onto Meg lane downhill into Higher Sutton. Keep to the road retracing part of your earlier route along Ridge Hill. Turn left down Judy Lane. Turn left along Church Lane, Be aware of traffic at the bend in the road on Church lane. Bear left then immediate right along Walker Lane and through the village of Sutton. Turn right down Bullocks Lane, finish. Please return your tabards and remove all litter. No droppings to be left on the field. PLEASE deposit in the trailer beside the gate. GATE CLOSES AT 2.30 p.m. .
