Coccothrinax argentata (Silverpalm, Florida silver palm, Thatchpalm) Silverpalm is a small, slow-growing palm that is named for its distinctive blue-green palmate leaves with silver undersides. The trunk can either be smooth and grey or covered in fiber. Silverpalm bears non-showy small, white flowers and purple fruits. It tolerates salty locations and soils with a high pH, so long as they are well drained. It also tolerates shady locations.
