FIRST PITCH 5 Pacific L, 0-2 The Hoosiers opened the 2010 Big Ten schedule last weekend in Iowa City and dropped a pair of game to #20 North Carolina L, 5-7 the Hawkeyes and will look to get back on track with Thursday doubleheader against No. 2 Michigan at the IU 6 UC Davis L, 2-4 Softball Field. Senior Jennifer Glueckert continued her hot hitting by going 3-for-5 on the weekend with a double at Cal State Fullerton W, 4-1 7 #10 Stanford L, 0-4 and a triple. UNDER ARMOUR SHOWCASE (Clearwater, Fla.) Michigan comes into the game having won 18 of their last 19 games, with the lone loss come to No. 19 Texas. 13 Cleveland State L, 2-8 Jordan Taylor and Nikki Nemitz have been a dominant 1-2 combination in the circle this season, accounting for Jacksonville State L, 3-6 all but one of the team’s 26 wins to this point. 14 Radford L, 4-6 Boston University L, 2-6 15 Long Island L, 3-4 TURNING TWO IU CLASSIC (Bloomington, Ind.) The Hoosiers are tied for third in the country this week in the number of double plays turned per game (0.50). 20 SIU-EDWARDSVILLE L, 0-11 (5) In 28 games, the Hoosiers have turned 14 double plays, just one less than Purdue for the Big Ten lead. Last CENTRAL MICHIGAN L, 2-3 21 CENTRAL MICHIGAN L, 2-8 season, Indiana turned 11 double plays in 49 games. The most double plays turned by an IU team on record is 21, back in 1987, but the current total is the most since the 2007 team turned 17. 24 LOUISVILLE L, 0-11 (6) 30 at Indiana State W, 2-1 SCHEDULE NOTES There have been some changes to the IU schedule recently, including the rescheduling of a doubleheader April 3 at Iowa* L, 1-5 against Evansville. She currently leads the team with a .347 batting average, is second in hits (26) and third in 25 NORTHWESTERN* 1:00pm doubles (6). She was inserted into the leadoff spot in the batting order in all three games of the IU Classic and 28 ILLINOIS (DH)* 2:00pm responded well, 5-for-9 (.556) with two doubles and a run scored.
