One of its associated troughs extends to Assam across West Bengal and central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay. The flood situation in Manikganj, Munshiganj, Faridpur, Rajbari, Sariatpur, Madaripur, Kushtia, Jessore, Satkhira is likely to improve and the flood situation in Netrokona, Sylhet and Moulvi Bazar is also likely to improve. Situation is improving but it will take time to be normal. 66 unions of 6 Upazillas and 02 Pouroshova of Satkhira district are inundated due to the increase of water level caused by heavy rainfall and onrush water from upstream (Jessore area). Water is decreasing as the DC has opened few sluice gates as well as absence of continuous rainfall. The situation is improving. Due to heavy rainfall and water logging, 8,26,124 people of 1,95,562 families have been affected in these 66 unions and 2 puroshovas. 25,440 acres crops fully and 18,205 acres partially, 528 km road fully (paka-144 km, muddy-384 km) and 1018 km partially (paka-280 km and muddy-738 km), 30 educational institutes fully and 533 partially, 5.08 km embankment fully and 82 km partially have been damaged. 27,966 families have taken shelter into 288 shelters. Increasing water level in the Jamuna and Bongal river caused inundation in low-lying area of 9 unions in Sariyakandi upazila and 1 union in Dhunat upazila. Few adjacent areas of the Bangal river have been inundated due to increased water 115 hectares of cultivable land, 19,250 members of 4350 families have been affected due to water logging and river erosion.
