(SeA JOURNAL· SEPTEMBER 2008 3 2008 ISCA DSA RECIPIENT The ISCA Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Jim Ellis has been awarded the 2008 ISCA Distinguished Service Award. Jim is the ISCA Executive Vice President for Communications and the Editor of the ISCA Journal. He has held both positions since August 2001. Active in Scouting for almost 50 years, Jim has served in numerous volunteer positions including his current positions as a member of the Executive Board for LaSalle Council, Pack Committee Member and, most importantly, assistant Den Leader for his eight-year old son's Cub Scout Den. Jim served on the Camp Madron staff as Trading Post Director and Field Sports Director. He also served on the staff of the Region 7 Canoe Base. Jim has also been a staff member at the last 7 National Jamborees, serving as Photo Editor for Jamboree Today during the 1989 and 1993 Jamborees, and as one of the full time staff members at the ISCA sponsored Collections Merit Badge Booth in 2005. Jim also served on the 2000 NOAC staff as one of the two staff members coordinating the nightly trading area. As a long time collector, Jim is a co-author of An Aid To Collecting Selected Council Shoulder Patches With Valuation Guide and the National Jamboree Memorabilia Guide Book. He writes the National Jamboree Column for the Journal and is a former editor of the NSCS Quarterly. Jim focuses his collecting interests on National Jamboree staff and activity issues and Philmont memorabilia.
