BOAS guideline: Update no 2 – April 2017 BOAS maintenance Guideline update no 2 April 2017 Vehicle maintenance plan Introduction Clause 16 of the Passenger Transport Regulation 2007 states the operator of a relevant service must have, and adhere to, a public passenger vehicle maintenance plan that is consistent with the maintenance standards of the manufacturer of the bus used to provide the service. Guideline Generic type vehicle maintenance plans (such as A, B, C and Ds) are not accepted by Roads and Maritime Services. However, if maintenance schedules exceed the manufacturers’ maintenance standards they are acceptable. Vehicle maintenance plans can be located by contacting bus manufacturers, enthusiasts, bus museum, and other bus operators, or on the Internet.
