If not, why not? ____________________________________________ You should know that Mastiffs are giant breed dogs with a relatively short life span. Many only live to about seven years of age. Others have been known to live to eleven or twelve but that is the exception, not the rule. We do not believe these giant, powerful dogs should spend their lives as couch potatoes, although they will willingly do so. Especially while growing, Mastiffs need sufficient opportunity to run and play at will and need plenty fresh and air and sunshine, preferably playing and socializing with their family and friends. They absolutely require premium nutrition. We will recommend diet and nutritional supplements and ask that you seriously consider our recommendations. We highly recommend joining the Mastiff Club of America (www.mastiff.org) and / or a regional Mastiff club (www.lsmf.com) and / or an all‐breed club. Clubs can be a great source of support and information, not to mention friendships and fun. If you are considering breeding this dog, you should be aware that our sales contract requires that prior to breeding the dog must achieve either an AKC conformation title and/or obedience title AND must have the following health testing done: OFA or PennHIP x‐rays for hips, OFA elbows, CERF (eyes), cystinuria and OFA cardiac. Also, this dog must not be bred to dogs not equally health tested. Are you willing to accept these conditions? You should also know that we believe breeders are responsible for the puppies they produce for the life of the dog. Thus if at any time you are unable or unwilling to keep any puppy/dog you get from us, we must insist that you contact us prior to re‐homing the dog. We will either take the dog back or help you find a suitable home. With this is mind, we will always notify you if our contact information changes and we ask that you do the same.
