Junior quarterback Zach Lewis, senior halfback Ronnie McDermott, junior offensive Sept. 17 - L, 50-49 lineman Joey Clegg and junior offensive lineman Eric Matteson also picked up honorable- mention accolades. GAME 4 Sawyer set Morehead State single season (12) and career (16) records for touchdowns SAN DIEGO * catches, plus led the PFL in that category this past year. He finished the 2011 campaign with SEPt. 24 - L, 48-44 60 catches for 904 yards. Sawyer ranked third in the conference in receiving yards per game (82.2) and fourth in scoring. He also posted five games of 100-plus receiving yards. Game 5 Raymond finished fourth in the league with 11.5 sacks and tallied 15.5 tackles for loss at Valparaiso * Oct. 1 - W, 38-14 to rank eighth. He also forced a pair of fumbles and blocked a kick. Raymond closed out his career with 27 sacks and 41 tackles for loss to rank among Morehead State’s all-time best GAME 6 defenders. DRAKE * Duzan earned first-team honors for the second straight year. He established the MSU OCt. 8 - L, 41-26 career record for field goals in the season opener and continued to add to it. Duzan finished the year 12-of-17 on FG attempts and went 49-of-51 on PAT tries. He led the team and Game 7 ranked third in the PFL with 85 points. Duzan also earned PFL Special Teams Player of the at Jacksonville * Week accolades three times. Oct. 15 - L, 50-14 Cox rushed for 956 yards and nine touchdowns in his final college season. Nov. 19 - W, 55-35 Clegg, a center, and Matteson, a right tackle, helped MSU rank first among all Football Championship Subdivision schools in first downs (25.2) and second in total yards (478.9). Duzan, a native of Dublin, Ohio, maintains a 3.84 grade point average as an accounting major at Morehead State. He was also named to the PFL’s First Team for athletic achievement. Duzan established the MSU career record for field goals in the season opener and continued to add to it. He finished the year 12-of-17 on FG attempts and 49-of-51 on extra-point tries. Duzan led the team and ranked third in the league with 85 points. He also earned PFL Special Teams Player of the Week accolades three times. Cox, a native of Akron, Ohio, maintains a 3.46 GPA as a sports management major at MSU. He was also named to the PFL’s Second Team for athletic achievement. The Eagles tallied 522 yards of total offense that afternoon, including 393 through the air. It was the final collegiate game for linebacker Tony Bachman, fullback Desmond Cox, defensive end Mark Hall, halfback Cory Jackson, defensive end Kyle Manley, linebacker Keaton May, halfback Ronnie McDermott, defensive end Jerome Raymond and wide receiver Andre Williams. INVITED TO THE SENIOR SCOUT BOWL Jerome Raymond and Tony Bachman were invited to the 2011 Football Championship Subdivision Senior Scout Bowl, which was played on Dec. 17 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The event, which is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL), showcases the talent of senior football players at the conclusion of each season. Raymond played in the game, but Bachman did not due to an injury in MSU’s season finale. LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Rainer Duzan was honored as the Pioneer Football League’s Special Teams Player of the Week on three occasions during the 2011 campaign (Sept. 4, Sept. 25, Nov. 20), while Desmond Cox earned one Offensive Player of the Week nod (Nov. 20) and Jerome Raymond notched one Defensive Player of the Week award (Sept. 4).
