11 LC 94 5033 House Resolution 844 By: Representative Coomer of the 14th A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing and commending the Harbin Clinic of Rome, Georgia; and for other purposes. 2 WHEREAS, the Harbin Clinic was founded to provide outstanding medical care to the 3 people of Northwest Georgia; and 4 WHEREAS, Harbin Clinic's legacy began more than 100 years ago and includes five 5 generations of medical history; and 6 WHEREAS, the predecessor of Harbin Clinic was Harbin Hospital, founded in 1908 by 7 Doctors Robert and William Harbin; and 8 WHEREAS, Harbin Clinic was founded in 1948 and today is Georgia's largest physician 9 owned multi-specialty practice with more than 200 providers in 20 locations throughout 10 Northwest Georgia; and 11 WHEREAS, Harbin Clinic recruits outstanding physicians from the top medical schools to 12 provide excellent care to the people of Northwest Georgia and includes physicians 13 specializing in cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, dermatology, endocrinology, 14 gastroenterology, general surgery, oncology, internal medicine, nephrology, women's 15 services, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics, plastic surgery, pulmonary medicine, 16 radiology, rheumatology, urology, vascular surgery, family practice, and other specialties; 17 and 18 WHEREAS, Harbin Clinic's oncology service was recognized as the 2010 top cancer 19 program in Georgia by the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology; and 20 WHEREAS, on April 10, 2010, Harbin Clinic opened the Harbin Clinic Tony E. Warren, 21 M.D. Cancer Center, one of the largest and most advanced cancer centers in Georgia, H. R. 844 - 1 - 11 LC 94 5033 22 demonstrating the clinic's commitment to providing outstanding medical services and 23 facilities and providing patients from throughout the region a new level of care; and 24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine facility 25 and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be appropriately recognized. 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that 27 the members of this body commend the Harbin Clinic for its outstanding achievements in 28 patient care in Northwest Georgia. 29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized 30 and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Harbin Clinic.
