At Madurai Temple, the festival begins on the Shukla Panchami day of the Tamil month Chittirai. The eighth day of the festival witnesses the coronation of Goddess Meenakshi, and the tenth day (Chitra Poornima) marks the wedding of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareshwara. Devotees will be able to select the vastrams (Pure Silk Sarees) at Front office and indicate preferred date for adorning the vastram on the deity.
