(Please keep this copy in the Student Handbook) Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response During the 2020-21 school year, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School will continuously adapt academic instruction and access to the school building following the Illinois five-phase plan and guidelines to reopen the state. During the five-phase plan, Cristo Rey will conduct academic instruction following the guidelines stated by the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Public Health as follows: Phase 1 - eLearning Phase 2 - eLearning Phase 3 - eLearning Phase 4 - eLearning and/or hybrid learning Phase 5 - Resume normal classes on campus Safety Measures on Campus In accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education guidelines and Illinois Department of Public Health, Cristo Rey will adhere to the following protocols: • No individuals will be allowed to enter the school buildings if symptoms of COVID-19 are self-reported or observed. Individuals should stay home if they are presenting any one of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, fatigue, muscle and body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. All individuals reporting to campus will be asked to self-report on any symptoms they may have. • All individuals will be required to wear face masks at all times while on school grounds. • No more than 50 individuals will gather in any space at any given time. • Social distancing will be required whenever possible and strictly enforced. • Thorough school wide cleaning and disinfection protocols will be implemented. ELearning & Hybrid Learning ELearning During phase 1,2, 3 and 4 of the Illinois reopening plan, Cristo Rey will conduct instruction through eLearning from 9am- 2pm. ELearning allows students to continue their education at home and while keeping everyone in our community safe. Students are required to be available from 9am-2pm daily, report to classes at the designated time, and responsible for completing any work assigned.
