27 June 2016 Dear Parents and Carers, Change of date for Year 6 into 7 Induction Day for Epsom and Ewell Schools from Tuesday 5 July to Wednesday 6 July 2016 Last week the National Union of Teachers announced their intention to take strike action on Tuesday 5 July 2016. Based on the impact of previous strike action, it is highly likely that there will be a significant number of full and partial closures that will make it untenable to run the Year 6 into 7 Induction Day that was planned across Epsom & Ewell Borough secondary schools for that day. In view of the importance of this Induction Day for Year 6 students, the Headteachers of Epsom and Ewell High School, Blenheim High School, Rosebery School and Glyn School have agreed with the primary school Headteachers to move it to Wednesday 6 July 2016 to avoid any risk of disruption or cancellation of their induction activities. The details for the day remain the same. We apologise for any disruption or difficulties that this may cause, but we believe early communication of these changes is the best course of action. This move is a permanent one and, should the industrial action be called off, the Induction Day will remain on Wednesday 6 July. Therefore, we look forward to seeing our Year 6 children at Stamford Green on Tuesday 5 July.
