Trips and visits that are linked to learning objectives are encouraged across all curriculum areas. Some of the trips and visits previously done are: • Poland: Our Public Service Students took a trip to Krakow and visited Auschwitz and other concentration camps to discover the horrors of war. This trip was also open to all our university students as part of wider learning experiences. • Club La Santa, Lanzarote: The warm weather camp in Lanzarote hosts thousands of athletes and active families and friends each year. Our sports science students lead the way with this trip to discover the benefits of warm weather training, and to experience the facilities and plethora of expert instructors and coaches at the site offer. • Manchester United: Business students have previously visited this club, who have met with them to discuss the success of the club as a product. By Bus: Ashton bus station has 36 services which run frequently and are operated by Stagecoach and First Manchester. The direct line from MediaCity, passing through Piccadilly, takes around 40 minutes. Cycling: There are cycle spaces at the Beaufort Road campus. Ashton town centre also has a new cycle hub which can accommodate over 40 bicycles. The hub is operated by secure automatic doors and CCTV. Use of the cycle hub costs £10 per year. TAMESI ON E DE TAMESIDE COLLEGE Apply online: www.tameside.ac.uk/on 13 Destination of our University Study Learners According to the most recent Destination of Learners from Higher Education Survey (DLHE 2017) our students have successfully progressed onto further study or employment. 65% of our students have gone on to secure graduate employment with an average earning per annum of £24,000 within the Greater Manchester/ Oldham postcodes, with a minority securing employment outside of the region. 10% of our students, on successful completion of a foundation university programme with us, have progressed to further study, particularly to complete a full Honours Degree with one of the many partnership universities with whom we work with. A further 13% continued to both employment and further study, whether this be on a part time basis whilst working, or study within the workplace. These results clearly demonstrate the value of our university study programmes to the many industries within the wider communities.
