NRT Scope Snapshot 22 metro trains 8 new + 5 upgraded stations 4000 commuter car parking spaces A train every 4 minutes 23km new + 13km upgraded track (Epping to Chatswood) NRT - Customer focused and operator-led . Customer service and operational requirements inherent within the design and throughout the project lifecycle . Safety is the number one priority for design, construction and operation . Systems include; CBTC (communications based train control system), CCTV, Central Control, PA and radio . Central Operational Control Centre (OCC) to control and monitor trains, stations and infrastructure – attended 24/7 . OCC communicates with passengers via intercom system (and CCTV) . Operation of train doors, PSD and PID will be automatically controlled Metro Trains . Single deck 6-car units – 3 doors and 2 . Modern interior, stream-lined exterior wheelchair spaces per car . End detrainment door . Open and wide gangways (1300mm) between cars . Continuous surveillance of CCTV in cars . Train floors level with train platforms . Air-conditioned, bright illumination with LED lighting, draught screens . Large windows . Hearing loops, intercom, emergency pushbutton . Fully automated train operation .
