Side Line Scarf - Knitting Pattern Design by: Fifty Four Ten Studio © 2015 SKILL LEVEL - Beginner / Easy SIZE - Approximately 7” wide x 62” long (or desired length) Yarn Suggestions SUPPLIES This pattern is designed for use 180 - 200 yards Super Bulky weight yarn (more for longer scarf) with “Super Bulky” weight yarn. On the yarn label, usually on the US Size 13 knitting needles (or size necessary to obtain gauge) back next to gauge & care info, Tapestry needle look for a yarn symbol with the number “6” on it. GAUGE* Super Bulky yarn Stockinette stitch with size 13 needles: 10 sts & 13 rows = 4” falls in yarn weight *Tips for testing gauge on last page. Gauge does not have to be category 6. exact. However, knitting will look best with fairly tight stitches. DIRECTIONS With size 13 needles cast on 15 sts for 7” wide scarf. ABBREVIATIONS (If using different weight yarn, see modification tips below.) K knit Work as follows: P purl Row 1: *K3, P3; repeat from *, end K3 st stitch sts stitches Row 2: same as Row 1 The pattern is made up of these 2 rows. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until scarf is 62” long, or desired length. Bind off in pattern when work is desired length. Cut yarn leaving an 8” tail. With a tapestry needle, carefully weave in ends. MODIFICATIONS This pattern may be modified for different weight yarns. Change the number of stitches cast on to suit your gauge and desired scarf width.
