Numerous trees were reported down in the Arrowhead are of north and northeast Montgomery. Tallapoosa County Camp Hill 03 1355CST ?? 3K 0 Thunderstorm Wind Trees and power lines were reported down by state troopers in the Camp Hill area of southeast Tallapoosa County. Lightning struck a tree and jumped to him. The lightning knocked his shoes off. He was probably struck by the first cloud to ground lightning strike from the storm. The time was estimated. Hail (1.75) Three-quarters inch hail was reported at Oxmoor Valley Golf Club in Homewood. One inch hail was reported in the Trace Crossings area of Hoover just south of Interstate 459. Three to four trees were also reported down in Hoover. Dime to golf ball- size hail was reported in Pinson lasting about seven minutes. Morgan County Danville 03 1615CST ?? 5K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Danville 03 1615CST ?? 20K 0 Lightning Numerous trees and power lines were reported down along Forrest Chapel Road in Danville. Lightning also struck a house causing a fire. Hartselle 03 1630CST ?? 5K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Large trees and some power lines were downed along Highway 36 west of Hartselle. Oak Ridge 03 1630CST ?? 45K 0 Thunderstorm Wind Large trees were reported down in the Neel and Oak Ridge area of Morgan County. In the Oak Ridge area, one tree fell on two pick-up trucks. Trees were reported blocking five roads in the area, and one tree fell on a mobile home. Greenbrier 03 1640CST ?? 5K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Large trees were reported down in Greenbrier along with power outages. Madison County Huntsville 03 1647CST ?? 42K 0 Thunderstorm Winds (G56) At the Huntsville International Airport, the National Weather Service recorded a wind gust to 64 mph. Five cars and two airplanes were damaged, and several buildings at the airport sustained minor damage. Madison 03 1700CST ?? 8K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Numerous trees and power lines were reported down in Madison. Ten utility poles were blown down near the Jetport Switching Station in Madison near Hughes Road and Alabama Highway 20. About 21,000 electric customers were without power at one point. The fire apparently did not start for several hours after the lightning strike occurred. ALABAMA, North Central Cont'd St. Clair County 7 NE Ragland 04 1510CST 3 4 23K 0 Thunderstorm Winds (G40) A strong wind gust with a thunderstorm collapsed a boat house under construction killing three people and injuring four others who had sought shelter. Tornado (F0) 15 NW Tuscaloosa 04 1620CST ???? Funnel Cloud A tornado was reported by the Tuscaloosa Fire Department in the Elrod/Echola area of Tuscaloosa. One tree was blown down. Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department reported a funnel cloud in the Brownville area about 15 miles northwest of Tuscaloosa. Trees and power lines were down along Highway 132 between Oneonta and Altoona. Marshall County Guntersville, Union Grove, and Arab 04 1615CST ?? 8K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Numerous large trees and power lines were reported down in the Guntersville, Union Grove, and Arab areas of Marshall County. The area affected was primarily the central and southwest section of the county. Funnel Cloud About ten trees were reported down along Highway 10 in the southwest part of Marion County. Hail about the size of dimes was reported in Hamilton. Several trees were down on Highway 44 between Twin and Brilliant. A funnel cloud was reported near Whitehouse about 15 miles east of Hamilton. Lamar County 6 E Detroit 04 2012CST 0.5 80 ? ? ? ? Tornado (F0) A tornado was reported at Henson Springs in northern Lamar County. The tornado occurred in the open with no damage reported. Winston County Haleyville 04 2045CST ???? Hail (0.75) Double Springs 04 2105CST ?? 5K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Three-quarter inch hail was reported at Haleyville. Power lines and several trees were downed in the Double Springs area. Lawrence County 3 N Moulton 04 2104CST ???? Funnel Cloud 8 E Moulton 04 2119CST ???? Funnel Cloud Hatton 04 2124CST ?? 2K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Funnel clouds were observed about three miles north of Moulton and just north of Speake, about eight miles east of Moulton. Large trees were reported down in Hatton, northwest of Moulton. Limestone County 3 S Athens 04 2150CST ???? Funnel Cloud A funnel cloud was reported three miles south of Athens near Interstate 65. ALABAMA, North Central Cont'd Walker County Townley 05 1715CST ?? 85K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Thunderstorm wind downed trees and damaged the roof on the volunteer fire department building in Townley. A church sustained minor damage and the bleachers at the Townley School were blown over. One house behind the post office had five trees fall on it. Funnel clouds were reported in many places in and around the Jasper area, however, there was no evidence that any of them had touched down. One house sustained roof and awning damage in the Providence community of extreme northeast Cullman County on County Road 1437. Monroe County Beatrice 08 1440CST 0 0 1.5K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Several trees and power lines were blown down in Beatrice. Excel 08 1500CST 0 0 1K 0 Thunderstorm Winds A church under construction was damaged by high winds. Clarke and Washington Counties 08 1435CST- 08 1500CST 0 0 2.5K 0 Thunderstorm Winds Trees and power lines were blown down by high winds throughout both Washington and Clarke counties. Most of the damage was three or four trees along with power lines blown down at a time in different parts of the counties.
