FOR RELEASE: Wednesday, Sept. 12, I962 TELEPHONE: CIRCLE 5-8900 The Jazz Singer, with Al Jolson, will be shown at the Museum of Modern Art on Thursday, September 13, at 8:30 p.m. The 1927 movie is the first in a series of Warner Brothers pro­ ductions to be shown on occasional Thursday evenings through­ out the winter, interspersed with lectures, symposia and concerts. The entire Museum is open Thursdays until 9'«00 p.m. The Warner Brothers series continues Septemb r 20 with Little Caesar (1930), with Edward G. Robinson and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.; September 27, The Public Knemy (I93I), with James Cagney and Jean Harlow; October k$ at 8:00 p.m., I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gsnq (1952), with Paul Muni and Glenda Farrell; and October 18, Forty-Second Street (1933), with Dick Powell, Ruby Keeler and Ginger Rogers. Future programs will be announced. Admission to the Museum is $1.00; members free. There is no additional charge for Warner Brothers films. According to Richard Griffith, Curator of the Museum1s Film Library; "The Warners not only launched talking pictures, they contributed more than any studio to the development of sound style. This Thursday evening series emphasizes their contributions to the gangster and musical genres, <*nd to social realism."
