The WIAA Executive Board, staff and member schools share a common goal of providing interscholastic activities that enrich the lives of our students and foster lifelong learning experiences. That goal ties in well with the message of the WIAA -- “Preparing youth for life, from one generation to the next.” Core values such as integrity, pride and fairness have guided the Association over the past century and will continue to shape student-athletes each year. This event is the result of determination, commitment and hard work by many people throughout the course of a season. The message we can all take from these events is the pride, teamwork and sportsmanship that these students and coaches have demonstrated along the way. The display of a positive attitude, whether as a participant or spectator, is the ultimate goal of our interscholastic activities programs. The WIAA’s resolve to nurture a healthy culture in each member school has become the standard for ensuring that these tenants are upheld. Please do your part by cheering on all participants at this State Championship event. By doing so, you are contributing to a wholesome event that is fun for everyone involved - student participants, officials, coaches and fans. Sincerely, Mike A.
