Since her first public appearance at the age of six with the Incheon Symphony, her solo and concerto performances have encompassed all the major halls and orchestras in Korea, as well as appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra in the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and halls throughout the United States and the world. She has been a regular guest at the Seoul Spring Chamber Music Festival since 2010, as well as at the Musik Sommer in Ost Friesland (Germany) since 2007. She was the inaugural artist-in-residence at the Tong-Yeong International Music Festival in 2009. She participated as faculty in 2011 and 2012 at the CCM Prague International Piano Institute. Choi has recorded the complete Chopin etudes for Aulos, as well as music of Liszt and Isang Yun on the Parke & Davis and Neue Musik Institut Hdk Berlin labels, respectively. An advocate and performer of new music, she premiered works in Korea of György Kurtag and Olivier Messiaen with the Seoul Philharmonic, as well as a new concerto by Shinuh Lee with the Pucheon Philharmonic. With the Pucheon, she also delivered Korea’s first performance of the Clara Schumann Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. She was awarded the Nanpa Music Prize in 2002 and the Arts Award in 2005, both in Korea. Choi serves as professor of piano at the Seoul National University College of Music..
