Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non-profit, multi-service organization focusing primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school, and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Senior Engagement Specialist, the Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties. Primary Duties • Conduct outreach to Education and Workforce Development Alumni • Connect Education and Workforce Development participants to Beacon programs. • Support outreach and recruitment for Education and Workforce Development and Beacon programs • Develop engagement strategies to connect with young people between 16 – 24 who reside in the Isaacs Houses / Holmes Towers NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) development • Help when needed on special projects. • Conduct support and surveying calls to community members to assess needs and share information. • Track data associated with support calls • Assist in all aspects of the distribution of nutritional food packages to eligible clients, including, but not limited to, stocking shelves, assisting with deliveries, and conducting intake and assessment. • Assist with collecting and inputting all necessary data and provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports. • Attends all in-service training and monthly meetings. • Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or HSE (HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY) is preferred • Able to lift up to 50 pounds • Effective communication skills • Customer service oriented • Comfortable using technology (i.e., smartphones, office 365 and email accounts) • Able to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas Day The Isaacs Center is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
