Providers Enhanced Rates Report (FY2019 Appropriation Act - Public Act 207 of 2018) March 1, 2019 Sec. 1801. (1) From the funds appropriated in part 1 for physician services and health plan services, the department shall continue the increase to Medicaid rates for primary care services provided only by primary care providers. For the purpose of this section, a primary care provider is a physician, or a practitioner working under the personal supervision of a physician, who is either licensed under part 170 or part 175 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17001 to 333.17084 and 333.17501 to 333.17556, and working as a primary care provider in general practice or board- eligible or certified with a specialty designation of family medicine, general internal medicine, or pediatric medicine, or a provider who provides the department with documentation of equivalency. Providers performing a service and whose primary practice is as a non-primary-care subspecialty is not eligible for the increase. The department shall establish policies that most effectively limit the increase to primary care providers for primary care services only. (2) By March 1 of the current fiscal year, the department shall provide to the senate and house appropriations subcommittees on the department budget, the senate and house fiscal agencies, the senate and house policy offices, and the state budget office a list of medical specialties and licensed providers that were paid enhanced primary care rates in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2017.
