Peter Lefkin 2015 Biography Peter Lefkin Senior Vice President of Government and External Affairs Allianz of America Corporation Mr. Lefkin is the senior vice president of governmental and external affairs with Allianz of America Corporation, which he joined in 1988. He leads the firm’s state and federal lobbying efforts in the US for Allianz Asset Management, US PIMCO Advisors, Fireman’s Fund, Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty, Allianz Life, Allianz Travel Assistance, Euler Hermes and several other US affiliates. Mr. Lefkin has 26 years of industry experience and was previously federal affairs counsel to the American Insurance Association. Before that, he was legislative counsel for Rep. Matthew J. Rinaldo (R-NJ), the ranking minority leader of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications, Consumer Protection and Finance. Mr. Lefkin was also a staff attorney in the office of general counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Mr. Lefkin served as past chairman of the Government Affairs Council for the Financial Services Roundtable and past chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of the American Insurance Association. He is the current chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of the Insured Retirement Institute and represents Allianz Asset Management on the Government Affairs Committee of Investment Company Institute. Mr. Lefkin is a member of the board of directors for the Organization for International Investment, a trade association comprising US subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the German American Business Association and is a member of the Advisory Committee for Moment Magazine. Mr. Lefkin has a B.S.F.S, cum laude , from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He also has a master’s degree in public administration and a J.D. from Syracuse University. Mr. Lefkin is a member of the Connecticut and District of Columbia Bars.
