Stop the Bridge Stop Traffic Chaos

STOP THE BRIDGE STOP TRAFFIC CHAOS Irish Rail plan to close the Level Crossings at Coolmine, Porterstown and Clonsilla, replacing them with a new flyover road bridge which will take traffic through Riverwood Court and cause congestion in surrounding estates WE SAY: YES to the electrification of the Maynooth rail line YES to improved public transport NO to traffic chaos in the Carpenterstown area NO to destroying our environment • The proposed bridge will become a main road and increase traffic congestion. It will make it difficult for all of us to enter and exit our estates, making local car journeys lengthier and more complicated • The proposed road bridge will be 14m high (45ft) and 15m wide (49ft). It will be visually obtrusive, increase noise and air pollution, damage the environment and have a harmful impact on living conditions in the area • The proposed road bridge will destroy green areas that are vital for our mental and physical wellbeing • Closing the level crossings will create dead-ends that encourage crime and antisocial behaviour, impacting rail passengers and residents in affected areas. We are asking Irish Rail for more time, more information and better options for Coolmine Level Crossing Please help by asking everyone in your household to make a submission to Irish Rail objecting to the proposed bridge before the deadline of 7 October by emailing [email protected] You can download our app to help you generate your email submission to Irish Rail using this QR code: For more information on Irish Rail’s plans and a ‘how to’ video to help you use the submission app, please visit the Riverwood Residents Association website at: https://www.riverwoodres.com/proposed-bridge If you need help making a submission, email [email protected] In order to help with our efforts, we are canvasing all Dublin West Members of the Oireachtas and Minister Eamon Ryan in order to seek their assistance and support to ensure we are offered “More Time, More Information and Better Options” from Irish Rail. We encourage you to do the same to facilitate a more collaborative and community centric consultation process.
