Setting Up Carleton E-mail for MAC Entourage (Outlook 2008) 1. There are two methods for accessing your new mailbox. You can either login to the Carleton Portal (http://www.carleton.ca/portal) with your normal login details and click the ‘Carleton Email’ link or go to https://login.microsoftonline.com/. This is the standard Microsoft Outlook Live webmail portal that will link to your Carleton Email account. Use the full email address to login i.e. [email protected] 2. Once you have logged into the mailbox, click on the ‘Options’ link in the top right hand corner and then select the ‘See All Options’ 3. In the Account Settings menu, click on the ‘Settings for POP, IMAP and SMTP access... link. This will then display a pop-up window with your specific account settings in. Take a note of all of these settings. 4. Once this is done you can then ‘sign out’ of your email account and then continue with the steps below. 5. Open up Entourage (Part of Office 2008). If you have never used Entourage before a Setup Assistant” should auto appear. If you have already used entourage then click on Entourage at the top menu and select ‘Account Settings=>New Email’. 6. In the ‘Account Setup Assistant’ window enter your full Carleton email address in the format [email protected]. Click the blue right arrow to continue. 7. The ‘Auto Configuration’ will fail. Click the arrow again to continue to the next screen. 8. In the ‘Verify and Complete settings’ window enter your name (i.e. the name you want displayed in the ‘From’ field), your full email address ([email protected]), your account ID (which is your full email address again) and your MyCarletonOne password. 9. Select IMAP as the server type and in the ‘Incoming / outgoing Mail’ Server fields please insert the details that you recorded for your account from Step.3. Click the blue arrow to continue. 10. On the next screen you will be asked if you want to verify your settings. Click on the ‘Verify My Settings’ button which will attempt to connect to the email account. If successful it will show you the results in the window. Click the blue arrow to continue. 11. If connected successfully then you can create a ‘nickname’ for the account and click Finish. You can also set Entourage as the default email client if you prefer. 12. Finally to check all has worked successfully, click on the Send/Receive icon in the main entourage window (under the inbox). .
