It was an afternoon of some really good hockey, and although the girls took some time to adapt to the pace of the boys....they got there eventually and played fantastic. Highlights of the game was Cubby playing in goal for the first time and having absolutely no idea what he was doing, and Ben Jones taking on 7 Cheadle players and scoring an outstanding goal. Both goals were scored by Ben Jones, Hockey and he was also awarded player of the The U13s played in the County Tournament at match. - Cat Vitale (Year 13) Kings Macclesfield. Throughout the morning they played; Queens Chester (drew 0-0), Kings Chester (won 1-0) and Alderley edge (won 4-0) Helena scoring four goals for the team and Beth Lomas one. The team got through to the final and beat The Grange 3-1! The girls played fantastically and are through to the next round of the Nationals. Player of the tournament Helena. At home the U16 put on an extremely impressive display of hockey against a very strong Queens Chester team with a 1-1 draw. Charlotte Wood earned player of the match with her debut in goal. U14 couldn’t compete against their opposition but played well. Player of the match was Georgie Offer. Tennis The U13 tennis team played in the first round of the North West team tennis competition against Newcastle Under Lyme School. The girls won 3 out of the 4 singles and both doubles, which landed us with a 5-1 win. We are now through to the next round against Kirkham Grammar School. Well played girls. Netball This week the senior netball team had two games. The first was at home against Kings Chester which they won in convincing style 34-21 (player of the match was Jordan Spedding). The second was away at Congleton again winning 32-10 with Anna Walton taking the player of the match for both games. A successful evening for the girls away at Congleton. The U12A won 15-9 (player of the match Alisha Donohue), U12B won 14-0 (player of the match Sofia Hall) U13 won 14-5 (player of the match Ellie Keates) U14 won 11-5 and U15 won 27-8 despite going down to 6 players in the second half (player of the match Jenny Cairns). Football On Wednesday afternoon, the U18 2ND XI played a friendly at home against Altrincham Grammar School. Unfortunately, Wilmslow High came out second best, losing 5-2. We played some great football but were beaten by a more physical outfit. Ben Newman put in a man of the match performance and will certainly find himself in the 1st XI squad for an important ESFA cup tie next week.
