The longest year? We called this election the longest year because so much has happened. A President has resigned office; Vice-Presidents, Congressmen, and Lieutenant Governors have come and gone; there have been no less than four elections in the Santa Barbara area; there has been a plethora of Upsets, sweeps, and surprises: this year has had no tack of political news. The changes this country, this state and this county have undergone in the last six months would have taken ten years in any other era. w But this Tuesday it will be all over. California w ill have elected a new governor as the Reagan administration quietly slips out of Sacramento's back door while the Brown or Flournoy camp slowly moves in from the front followed, no doubt, by packs of eager new legislators who have marched to victory.
