Paris Suggested Itinerary Day 1 François-Mitterrand Library AM 9:00 It is currently the biggest national library in Paris, and it is not an exaggeration to say that it houses all books published in France. Place de la Bastille AM 10:00 It was once where prisons stood, and where the French Revolution, a symbolic event, took place. Inside the Place de la Bastille is a monumental column that commemorates the civilians who perished during the July and February revolutions. Opéra Bastille AM 11:00 An opera house located in the Place de la Bastille, it is the the second most prominent opera house in Paris after Palais Garnier built in 1989. Paris City Hall PM 12:00 Located in the 4th administrative district of Paris, the Paris City Hall accommodates the administrative institutions of Paris since 1357. Le Marais PM 1:00 Le Marais is a historic district in Paris that stretches over 3rd and 4th administrative districts. It has been preserved for religious purposes since the 12th century, and is frequently visited by young people due to its high concentration of restaurants and street shops. Père Lachaise Cemetery PM 3:00 Located in Paris’s 20th administrative district, it is one of the most famous cemeteries in the world where people like Chopin, Édith Piaf, Yves Montand, and Jim Morrison are buried. Centre Georges Pompidou PM 5:00 It is where the Public Information Library, a huge public library, and the National Museum of Modern Art, which houses important artifacts from the 20th century, and the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music are located. Day 2 La Défense AM 9:00 As part of the satellite town of Paris built on the banks of the Seine, a high-tech industry, commercial, sales, and residential facilities were constructed through long-term development initiatives. One of the famous structures there is La Grande Arche de la Défense. Arc de Triomphe AM 11:00 As a symbol of glory, the 50 m tall Arc de Triomphe is located on the Charles de Gaulle square, on the west of Champs Elysees. It is one of the iconic buildings of Paris and the world’s top tourist attractions. Champs-Élysées PM 12:00 Located north of the Seine and stretching for 2 km, this street is known for luxury boutiques, theaters, restaurants, cafés, the famous Le Lido show Theater. Eiffel Tower PM 2:00 It is an iconic French architecture and the tallest building in Paris. It is a world famous attraction site visited by millions of people every year, and named after its architect Gustave Eiffel. It was built as the entrance gate World Expo, held in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 1889 French Revolution. Bateau-mouche PM 5:00 The etymology of Bateau-mouche, which means the Seine river cruise, comes from the mode of transportation (bus) that was used for canal tours in Paris and Lyon, and Bateau-mouche was registered as a cruise tour in 1950. Day 3 AM 9:00 Musée Rodin It is a museum that exhibits works by Auguste Rodin and artworks he collected. Musée d’Orsay AM 11:00 Located on the left bank of the Seine, this museum is famous for 19th century impressionist works including those of Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. Saint-Germain-des-Prés PM 12:00 Situated on the left side of the Seine in Paris, this street is filled with art galleries, cafes, antique shops, and many historical attractions. It is full of cultural tastes that represent France. PM 2:00 Jardin du Luxembourg A garden in front of the Luxembourg Palace, it is known as a place of relaxation for all Parisians. Place Saint-Michel (Latin Quarter) PM 4:00 With a number of universities like Paris IV-Sorbonne University and prestigious high schools, this district is always full of students and professors. Notre-Dame PM 5:00 Notre Dame Cathedral, the epitome of French Gothic architecture, still belongs to the Roman Catholic and is used as the Cathedral for the Archbishop of Paris. Day 4 The Louvre AM 9:00 Located in the heart of Paris, this public museum is one of the 3 most prominent museums in the world, in terms of both in quantity and quality of the exhibits. The Louvre has one of the world’s largest collection of artworks, all of which represent all eras of Europe up to the Impressionist era. Place de la Concorde AM 11:00 Louis XVI was executed during the French Revolution in 1793. The Concorde Square, where Marie Antoinette was beheaded the same year, is the largest square in Paris. PM 12:00 La Madeleine It is a Catholic cathedral located in Paris, modeled after the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Opera Theater PM 2:00 It is located on the north end of the Avenue of the Opera and can accommodate 2,200 people. A neo-baroque structure designed by Garnier, it is considered one of the architectural masterpieces of the time and is beautifully decorated with various ornaments, including sculptures and paintings. Montmartre & Sacré-Cœur PM 4:00 The Montmartre is located in northern Paris and is the tallest hill in Paris. It retains a cultural and artistic identity to the extent that you can feel the religious atmosphere and the trend of art of those times.
