Conference games still tied after a five-minute 5-on-5 overtime advance to a five-minute 3-on-3 overtime (and sudden victory shootout if still tied) with the team that wins the second overtime/shootout receiving an extra point in the standings (3/SW in the standings), making all games worth three (3) points. The 3-on-3 overtime and shootouts only affect conference standings, while the game is officially a tie for NCAA purposes. NCHC FaCts aNd Figures This Week’s Games • Home teams won seven of eight NCHC games last weekend, after NCHC Friday, Jan. 18 teams went just 16-12-4 (.563) at home in conference play over the first *No. 5/4 Minnesota Duluth at Miami, 7:35 p.m. ET third of the conference slate. With the seven wins last weekend, NCHC *No. 10/11 Western Michigan at No. 2/2 St. Cloud State, 7:07 p.m. CT teams are now 23-13-4 (.625) at home in conference play this season. TV: FOX Sports North Plus/FOX College Sports Central No. 2/2 St. Cloud State is the only NCHC team and one of only two teams *No. 20 North Dakota at Omaha, 7:07 p.m. CT nationally to be unbeaten at home this season, with the Huskies 8-0-0 *No. 3/3 Denver at Colorado College, 7:30 p.m. MT at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center (Minnesota State is 11-0-0 at home). SCSU hosts No. 10/11 Western Michigan this weekend in a match- Saturday, Jan. 19 up of the top two teams in the NCHC standings. The Broncos head into *No. 5/4 Minnesota Duluth at Miami, 7:05 p.m. ET the series riding an NCAA-best 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1), meaning *No. 10/11 Western Michigan at No. 2/2 St. Cloud State, 6:15 p.m. CT something has to give. The in- state enemies have played 315 games all-time, which are the second most LasT Week’s Results among two schools in college hockey history. They are among 81 Division *No. 1/1 St. Cloud State 4, at No. 5/5 Minnesota Duluth 2 I men's hockey players up for college hockey's top honor. By class, seven are seniors, while three are juniors and sophomores each. St. Cloud State senior defenseman Jimmy Schuldt is * National Collegiate Hockey Conference Game among the 13 after being a Hobey Baker Top Ten Finalist last season, while Western Michigan is the lone NCHC team with three nominees.
