The indigenous squad of highly talented boys (aged 15-18) met for the second time this year as part of a specially designed program to fast-track their development on the fi eld, boost their leadership qualities, and strengthen ties with their cultural identity. The camp also gave the boys another chance to impress on the fi eld where they were pitted against an U18 Multicultural Squad from the Western Region. The team, known as the Majak Daw Squad, includes a number of very gifted young footballers from multicultural backgrounds, but they proved no match for a slick Laguntas outfi t. After capturing the squad’s fi rst ever victory against Vic Country U16s last month, Laguntas produced another impressive display to storm to a commanding 86-point triumph.
