Registration would be cancelled. 1 : NAAC ACCREDITION-Brief Summary : Dr. Kanailal Bhattacharyya College is now one of the few tertiary institutions of higher education to be assessed and accredited thrice by NAAC. The College was assessed and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2004 and reassessed and reaccredited by the same authority in 2009. After meticulous inspections, the college was awarded C++(67.70%) and 'C' (1.91 CGPA) grades in 2004 and 2009 respectively. The College has been also assessed and accredited by NAAC for the third time in Dec. 2014 and was re-accredited with a CGPA of 2.01 on a four point scale at ‘B’ Grade. These results stand for the continuous progress and development of the institution. 2 Achievement of the College 1. This College is a Recipient of RUSA Funds for Infrastructure upgradation 1st Installment : 50,00.000 (2015-16) 2nd Installment : 72,91,667 (2015-16) 3rd Installment : 72,91,667 (2017-18) Total : 1,95,83,334 The above fund was properly utilised and UC submitted in due time. 2. The college also Received Rs. 10,00,000 vide Memo No. 1114 (SANC)/EH/P/CS/10M-108/ 2017 Dated 21.03.2018 from Deputy Secretary Highe Education. Science & Technology and Biotechnology (Higher Education) for the purpose of purchase of Furniture, Books, Equipments, Computers, etc. 3 Instructions to Students : 1. 'First year students are hereby instructed to sign in the University of Calcutta Check List from the date of commencement of BA/B.Sc./B.Com classes within two months and also to fill up C.U. Registration Form, failing which, C.U. Registration can not be issued for the absentance students. 2. If a student fails to substantiate the information submitted during admission for the purpose of fulfilling the formalities for obtaining University of Calcutta Registration or for any other purpose the college finds appropriate, his/her admission would be cancelled. 3. The undersigned is directed to forward you the University Notifications No. CSR/3/18, dt. 07.05.2018 and CSR 4/18, dt. 07,2018, containing new Admission & Examination Regulations for Semester-wise three-year (six semesters) B.A./B.Sc. (Honours/General) and B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Major) Courses of studies under CBCS and B.Com CSR 64/17 with amendments 10118. This new Admission and Examination Regulation is in effect from the academic session, i.e., 2018-2019. The 3 year B.A/B.Sc. (Honours/General) Programme shall be for a minimum duration of six (6) consecutive semesters of six (6) months each i.e., three (3) years. The Odd semester will start ordinarily in the month of July and the even semester in the month of January of every year under CBCS (Choice-based Credit System) university of Calcutta. A candidate pursuing a regular course of study for three-year semester-wise degree course shall have to clear all the semesters in all respects within a span of fiver years from the year of admission to the particular course and combination, failing which enrolment of the candidate shall stand cancelled. 4. Applicability of the Regulation These regulations shall be applicable to : a. The students who are taking admission to the B.A/B.Sc. (Honours/General)( Course from the academic session 2018-2019. b. The students who were admitted a earlier sessions but did not enroll for B.A./B.Sc/ B.Mus. (Honours/General) Part I Examinations up to 2018. c. The students who were admitted in earlier sessions and enrolled for B.A./B.Sc. (Honours/General) Part I Examinations did not appear in Part I Examinations up to 2018, d. The students who were admitted in earlier sessions and appeared in B.A./B.Sc/ B.Mus.(Honours/General) Part I Examinations in 2018 or earlier shall continue to be guided by the existing Regulations of Annual System. 5. It is compulsory for the students of B.A./B.Sc./ Hons. Gen 1st yr (Sem 1 and Sem 2) and B.Com 2nd year (Sem 3 and Sem 4) to appear for internal assessment. B.A./B.Sc. 2nd year and 3rd yr. and B.Com 3rd year as per University Calendar. 4 6. Students enrolling for the honours course cannot change their given subject combination, as mentioned in the prospectus. 7. Availing the library facility is mandaroty for the honours students. 8. College fees are to be deposited on time. Non-payment of any outstanding fee would result in the non-publicaiton of the result and even a suspension of the candidature. Monthly fees are to be deposited in the Santragachi Co-operative Bank (Ramrajatala Branch) within the 7th and the 20th of every month. 9. College campus and class rooms should be kept clean. 10. Cycles are to be kept in the cycle stand alone and nowhere else. 11. Under no circumstances, the discipline and the academic atmosphere can be violated. 12. NO STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED to enter the college Campus WITHOUT THEIR IDENTITY CARD. Rules Regarding Admission (a) For admission to the Honours courses the minimum marks to be obtained in the H.S. examinations is 500/250 and 90/45 in the desired subject or 110/55 in the desired subject. (b) Admission in U.G. Colleges of C.U. will be on the basis of College level on-line admission procedure intoduced by the Calcutta University from 2015-16 academic session. c) There will be one Admission Window in the College Campus. d) Interested Candidates are requested to visit Calcutta University website regularly. Website : www.caluniv.ac.in Attendence (a) A student attending at least 75% of the total number of classes [60% to less than 75% =6, 75% to less than 90% = 8, 90% and above = 10] held shall be allowed to appear at the concerned Examinations. (b) A student attending at least 60% but less than 75% of the total number of classes* held shall be allowed to appear at the concerned Semester Examinations subject to the payment of prescribed condonation fees and fulfillment of other conditions laid down in the regulations. (c) A student attending at least 60% shall not be allowed appear at the concerned Semester Examinations and he/she has to pursue admission to the same Semester in the very next year. 5 Extension Programmes Keeping in mind the social responsibility of the institution, the college has organized several extension programmes.
