The roof of the station was landscaped with plants and was featured an innovative rooftop parkland together with play equipment and facilities for use by the public particularly for the densely populated adjacent estates like the Mei Foo Sun Chuen and the Ching Lai Garden. The complete integration with the surrounding environment is the main feature for both the design and construction of the station. For example: provision of sufficient footpath and vehicular link roads between the station and the adjacent housing estates. Minimize the impact to the adjacent residents during the construction stage was also a major concern. A temporary footbridge running across the site was constructed so as to provide convenient passage for the pedestrian. With the commencement of the operation of the West Rail and the completion and opening of the rooftop parkland at the roof of the Mei Foo station, the transportation and the environment of the surrounding area was substantially improved. The quality of living for the local residents was also enhanced. .
