HAMMER TIME: Jackson, MS native Chris Maloney enters his first season as the M-Braves man- ager and is the seventh skipper in franchise history. • Maloney attended Jackson’s St. Joseph High School and graduated from Mississippi State University in 1983. • Maloney spent the previous six years on the St. Louis Cardinals Major League coaching staff as the team’s third base coach (2016-July 2017) and first base coach (2012-15). • Prior to joining the Cardinals, Maloney was the Memphis Redbirds (AAA) manager for five seasons (2007-11), leading the team to winning records in four of his five seasons. • Maloney ranks ninth among active minor league managers in wins with 1,350 entering the 2018 season.
