We hope to make PRESIDENT this a regular communication which will provide the members an update on activities taking place at Baroda Cricket Association. The last few months have been quite eventful at BCA. The members came out in large numbers and ensured that a smooth election was conducted in September. I thank you all for the same. The team followed this up with the 78th AGM in November where the accounts for the year 2015-2016 were passed. Our various cricket teams have improved vastly over the last year. The senior team started off the Ranji season well with winning all the league matches of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 Tournament and qualified for the super league round. I hope for a much beer performance in the coming season. U23, U16 and the Women Teams had good seasons and we hope to beer the performance next year as well. It is a maer of pride to inform that Yastika Bhatia of Skipper of Baroda U-23 Women's Team was selected to tour Australia for India U-23 Women's team to play against Australia and Bangladesh. Mr. Pranav Amin The work on the Kotambi Project is progressing well and the ground will be ready to play President matches in April. The team has had multiple meetings with architects & turnkey providers for stadiums. We hope to progress on this in the months to come. The indoor sports facility is also something that is being pursued by the team and we hope to progress on this in the near future as well. Baroda was in the same group along with Odisha, Uar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Vidarbha. Due to prolonged monsoon the tournament extended by BCCI, so that each team gets maximum matches to play. Baroda won 3 out of 8 matches and stood 13th on the combined points table of Elite Group A & B. Swapnil Singh - Scored 220 runs with an average of 31.43 and also Aditya Waghmode - Scored 193 runs with an average of 32.17 took 8 wkts with an average of 28.63 Atit Sheth - Took 9 wkts with an average of 30.22 Yusuf Pathan - Scored 205 runs with an average of 29.29 and also Krunal Pandya - Took 8 wkts with an average of 14.75 took 5 wkts with an average of 15.60 Bhargav Bha - Took 8 wkts with an average of 18.25 Swapnil Singh Yusuf Pathan Aditya Waghmode Atit Sheth Krunal Pandya Bhargav Bha Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy - T20 Tournament: This year the team was in Group-A along with Goa, Karnataka, Uarakhand, Andhra, Bihar and Services. The tournament was played at Mysore. Baroda won all the league matches and secured 1st position in group with 20 points and qualified for Super League of the tournament played at Surat. Baroda played against Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana. One the virtue of NRR Baroda secured 4th position in Super League. Aditya Waghmode - Scored 364 runs with an average of 45.50. Lukman Meriwala - Took 16 wkts with an average of 10.69 Kedar Devdhar - Scored 356 runs with an average of 39.56. Baroda won 3 matches out of 8 matches. Baroda secured 4th position in group with 14 points. Mitesh Patel- Scored 154 runs with an average of 25.67 Abhimanyusingh Rajput- Scored 122 runs with an average of Shlok Desai- Scored 154 runs with an average of 25.67 and also 20.33 and took 7 wkts and average of 29.71 took 6 wkts with an average of 30.67 Hument Punde- Took 7 wkts with an average of 19.86 Dhruv Patel- Took 7 wks with an average of 25.29 Mitesh Patel Shlok Desai Abhimanyusingh Hument Punde Dhruv Patel Rajput U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy - One Day Tournament Baroda was in Elite C group along with Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Saurashtra, Odisha, Kerala, J&K and Bihar. The tournament was played at Guwahati. Baroda won all the league matches and secured 1st position in the group with 28 points and qualified for the knock-outs of the tournament. The knock-out tournament was played in Indore. The team played Quarter-Final against Mumbai. Atharv Karulkar- Scored 160 runs with an average of 20.00 Malhar Ghevaria- Took 19 wkts with an average of 10.68 Shashwat Rawat- Scored 159 runs with an average of 26.50 Ashutosh Das- Took 14 wkts with an average of 11.93 Kinit Patel- Scored 103 runs with an average of 12.88 and also took 5 Mahesh Pithiya- Took 13 wkts with an average of 11.54 wkts with an average of 14.80 Archan Kothari- Took 12 wkts with an average of 16.00 Atharv Karulkar Shashwat Rawat Kinit Patel Malhar Ghevaria Ashutosh Das Mahesh Pithiya Archan Kothari U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy Baroda team won on the virtue of 1st innings lead against Mumbai, Gujarat and Saurashtra in the league phase. Baroda with 10 points secured 2nd position in West Zone and qualified for knock-outs. The Pre-Quarter Final match was played against Nagaland at Amtar, HP. Baroda defeated Nagaland by an innings and 185 runs. Gujarat, Haryana, Saurashtra, Nagaland & Manipur. The The team won 5 matches out of 6 matches. The match against team won 4 matches out of 7. Baroda secured 3rd position in Tripura was abandoned due to rain. Baroda secured 2nd the group. position in the group and qualified for Super League & knock-out matches. The knock-out tournament was played at Yastika Bhatia - Scored 251 runs with an average of 83.76 Mullapadu, Vijaywada. In Super League Group- B Baroda Jaya Mohite - Took 12 wickets with an average of 4.50 Team was along with Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Railways and Gayatri Naik - Took 9 wickets with an average of 7.11 Himachal Pradesh. Baroda team won 3 matches out of 4 matches and qualified for knock-outs. The Semi-Final was played against Bengal.
