INFORMATION SERVICES UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA MISSOULA, MONTANA 59801 Phone (406) 243-2522 dwyer SATURDAY, APRIL 20 h-18-68 local RUSSELL-LEE RECITAL '-OPENS UM SYMPOSIUM Paul Russell, playing horn, and James Lee, trombone, will present a recital Saturday (April 20) at 8:15 p.m. in the University of Montana Recital Hall. The recital is the opening event of a brass symposium directed by James D. Robertson, graduate assistant in music. The symposium includes a trumpet recital by Douglas Wolfe at 8:15 P-m. Monday (April 22) and a concert by the UM Choir and Brass Ensembles at 8:15 P-m. Tuesday, April 30. These programs will be in the Recital Hall and will be free. Details on a brass seminar scheduled Saturday, April 27, will be announced, Robertson said. The recital tonight (April 20) includes works by Patrick McCarty, J. E. Barat, Robert A. Spillman, Lars-Erik Larsson and Claude Pascal. Russell s piano accompanist is Carol Larson, and Lee's is Julie Schwartz. Russell will switch to trombone and Lee, to horn, for the final number, Suite for Brass Sextet by John Verrall. Other members of the sextet are John Levno and Mry Karis, trumpets; John Hancock, horn, and Allan Eve, tuba. Lee is a senior music education major and a trombone student of Butler Eitel. He holds a Teel Memorial Scholarship. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. William Lee, Kansas City, Mo. Russell, a sophomore, studies horn with Prof. Eitel. He belongs to | P m Eta Sigma scholastic honorary and holds a band scholarship. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Russell, Missoula. 30.
