The Straits of Malacca is important for littoral states and also for user states. The Straits of Malacca labelled as the most dangerous water in the world because the negative publication regarding the number of maritime piracy and armed robbery attack in the Strait of Malacca. Decision making process on defence and security of Indonesia especially on Indonesia Navy , started from national interest of Indonesia following several steps until Indonesian Maritime Military Strategy (IMMS). To maintain maritime security in the Straits of Malacca, Indonesian Navy established Western Fleet Quick Response (WFQR). WFQR is quick response unit, operated on limited and islet area. WFQR role is very important to adding capability of Indonesian Navy to combating maritime piracy and armed robbery in the Straits of Malacca. WFQR contributed on decreasing the number of maritime piracy and armed robbery attack by cooperation with national stakeholders of Indonesia and regional stakeholders in the Straits of Malacca. Selat malaka adalah selat yang penting bagi negara pantai dan negara pengguna. Selat malaka disebut sebagai perairan yang berbahaya di dunia karena publikasi yang negatif tentang angka serangan pembajakan maritim dan perampokan bersenjata di Selat Malaka. Proses pengambilan keputusan dalam pertahanan dan keamanan Indonesia khususnya angkatan laut Indonesia. Dimulai dengan kepentingan nasional diikuti beberapa tahap hingga Strategi Militer Maritim Indonesia. Untuk menjaga keamanan maritim di Selat Malaka, Angkatan Laut Indonesia mendirikan Pasukan Reaksi Cepat Armada Barat (WFQR). WFQR adalah unit reaksi cepat, beroperasi di area terbatas dan pulau kecil. Peran WFQR sangat penting untuk menambah kapabilitas Angkatan Laut Indonesia untuk melawan pembajakan dan perampokan bersenjata di Selat Malaka. WFQR berkontribusi dalam berkurangnya angka kejadian pembajakan maritim dan perampokan bersenjata berkooperasi dengan pemegang kebijakan nasional dan pemegang kebijakan regional di Selat Malaka. It is only through Him, that I am able to stay strong and achieve the best of my life so far in His name.
