Firmware 4.0.1 is the first firmware update to the inaugural firmware for Pearl-2, which brought all the features of Pearl to a powerful new platform. This section lists features new to the Pearl-2 platform and to firmware 4.0.1. Firmware 4.0.1 Add-ons: 4K add-on Firmware 4.0.1 has improved the implementation of the add-on model for customizing your Pearl-2. The first of these add-ons is the ability to use 4K. Whereas the base model is not 4K-capable, the 4K feature add-on allows for the use of 4K for all your video production needs! Throughout the manual, there is information that applies only when your system has the 4K feature add-on, as indicated with this symbol: 4K . Wherever that symbol appears, it denotes that the feature is available only if you have activated the 4K feature add-on for your Pearl-2. Pearl-2 features Capture 6 video sources at once Pearl-2 works with video sources from SD to 4K. Connect up to six sources at once to encode and stream one 4K Ultra HD program or up to six 1080p Full HD programs. Use any combination of your video sources connected to the HDMI, 4K HDMI or 12G SDI video input ports, or from IP cameras over your network. Epiphan Live This online control interface designed for touch screen devices allows for simple to use monitoring and live switching between sources or layouts. You can use it to control your streaming and recording from any mobile device or computer on your local network. Switch video sources live You can simultaneously live stream to YouTube, Facebook and any other CDN or video portal. At the same time, you can use the built-in streaming server to stream locally to web browsers, smart TVs and set-top boxes. Physical features Pro video inputs and outputs Pearl-2 has two HDMI ports, two 4K HDMI ports and two 12G SDI ports as video inputs, allowing for lots of different streaming options. Pearl-2 also has two 4K HDMI video output ports, allowing you to show content to front of house or send it to a larger confidence monitor. You can configure it to share any input source or switched program output. Pro audio inputs With four HDMI and two SDI audio sources, as well as two stereo XLR and two RCA ports, you can always capture the professional level audio you need from mixing consoles or other sound equipment. Built-in attenuation and gain adjustment mean you get perfect sound fidelity. Data storage The 512 GB solid state hard-drive will hold hundreds of hours of HD recordings. You can also configure automatic file transfer to a local USB drive with USB 3.0 file transfer speed or to networked storage to ensure your files are always protected. Touchscreen for single person operation Control and monitor your live video production with Pearl-2’s touch screen. With a touch of the finger, turn on streaming, recording or switch the layout in the live stream. Connect your headphones and monitor audio using the front-mounted 3.5 mm audio jack and on-screen VU meter. Beautiful new look!
