Nordic Network in Neurorehabilitation Seminar at World Congress of Neurorehabilitation, Istanbul/Turkey 11th of April, 12:30 – 13:30 Sultan 2, Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention & Exhibition We hereby invite all WCNR participants with affiliation to a Nordic country to participate in this seminar which is part of a process of establishing a formal Nordic Network in Neurorehabilitation. In addition to obvious geographical reasons, we consider the common cultural and historic background and the quite similar societal structures as important reasons for further collaboration. Program: Welcome (Frank Becker) Nordic cooperation: an example from rehabilitation of severe TBI (Catharina Nygren-Deboussard) Presentation of Working Document (Hanne Munk) and Background & Purpose paper (Merete Stubkjaer Christensen) Discussion Round-up (Frank Becker) Background for the Nordic Network During the World Congress of Neurorehabilitation in Melbourne in 2012, a number of Nordic attendees gathered and decided to improve Nordic cooperation in neurorehabilitation. As a result, a Nordic Network Meeting in Neurorehabilitation was held in Copenhagen in May 2013, with about 100 participants from Denmark, Sweden and Norway. In addition to lectures on different neurorehabilitation topics, further co- operation was discussed. An interdisciplinary working group with 2 representatives from each of the three countries was elected. One aims to formally establish a Nordic Network in Neurorehabilitation during the next Nordic Network meeting at Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital (Oslo/Norway) 18th – 19th of May 2015.
