Klefah A. K. Musa Musa K. A. Klefah Klefah A. K. Musa did his 5 years undergraduate studies in pharmacy and received his Bachelor’s degree from Gary- ounis University (Al-Arab Medical University), Benghazi, Klefah A. K. Musa Libya 1999. From 2000 to 2004, he worked as a teacher in chemistry at Garyounis University and in pharmacology at Health Institute of Nursing in Tarhuna. In 2005 he started his Ph.D studies in chemistry at School of Science Design Drug and Reactions Phototoxic Drugs, Photodynamic of Studies Computational and Technology, Örebro University, Sweden. In 2007 he received his Licentiate degree in chemistry. Drug photosensitivity disorders are common side effects for many drugs of both over-the-counter and prescription drug families. Phototoxicity is one type of the photosensitivity disorders, which arises because of reactive oxygen spe- cies and radicals formation in different drug photodegradation mechanisms. Doctoral Dissertation phototoxic reactions and drug design Computational studies of photodynamic drugs, This thesis focuses on the studies of photodegradation mechanisms of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): ketoprofen, ibuprofen, flur- biprofen, naproxen, the active form of nabumetone, diclofenac and its main Computational Studies of Photodynamic Drugs, photoproduct, suprofen and tiaprofenic acid. In addition, photodegradation Phototoxic Reactions and Drug Design mechanisms of naphazoline, which is used in eye and nasal medications, as well as the antibiotic drugs norfloxacin and lomefloxacin were studied. Based on the obtained results from the NSAIDs studies, new non-steroidal anti- inflammatory molecules were computationally designed and investigated for their photodegradation, activity and selectivity towards their target isoforms of the cyclooxygenase enzyme.
