OLD EDWARDIAN APPOINTED AMINISTER OFTHECROWN Following Labour's victory in the General Election on 1 May, Peter Kilfoyle became the first OE (1957·1964) to be appointed a Minister of the Crown and is currently the Minister for Public Services. Peter entered St. Edward's in 1957 from St Margaret Mary's Junior School in Pilch Lane. He was a talented, and sometimes fiery, sportsman, later captaining the Rugby1st XV and the Athletics Team: he also played Double Bass in the School Orchestra. However, his individuality did result in at least one visit to the study of the Headmaster Brother W D Foley OBE (incidentally, the first Old Edwardian to become Headmaster of St. Edward's).
